Chicago Cut Steak House

 Saturday May 18,  2013 - 5:30pm
300 N. LaSalle, Chicago IL 60654
312-329-1800

My review is as follows:
I had the bone-in ribeye steak, the whipped potatoes and the lobster bisque soup. I enjoyed the steak – even had leftovers for the next day – but was slightly disappointed with the potatoes (the consistency was too loose). This was the first time I had tomato-based lobster bisque soup, which I didn’t care for. I also tasted the lobster mac ‘n cheese and enjoyed it – that would have been a better selection for a side dish. While the service was excellent, our seating was just too cramped, but as always I had a great time. Overall, I would give Chicago Cut two stars.

Hello Dinner Club,

For Appetizer I had Foie Gras it was okay. For my entree I had the Cajun Spiced Rib Eye it was tender and had great flavor. The atmosphere was great. I give Chicago Cut Steakhouse 2.5 stars.

Hello Dinner Club,
I had a great time with the dinner club as usual. I had the Lobster Trio, it was good but the portion was very small compared to the price, I also had the Crab Macaroni, it was good the portion was enough to share with Scott and others. The atmosphere and service was great, I agree with everyone else regarding the seating arrangement it could have been better if we had more elbow space. I give Chicago Cut a 2.5.

Hello Dinner Club Family,

As always the company and fellowship was great! Val and I enjoyed Chicago Cut we agree there were pros and cons. The Pros: The atmosphere was nice, the service was excellent, and the food was good cooked per request Val had the Steak and Lobster combo, and I had the New York Bone in Steak, the portions reasonable. The Cons: The seating Arrangement was not sufficient for the size of our party, and the price was a bit steep. We rate it 3.5

Hello Dinner Club,
Mike and I agree that the Chicago Cut Steakhouse is a bit pricey, but we have never been to Ruth Chris or Morton's but the other steak houses we've been were just as good or better.

Mike ordered the Bone-In Rib Eye, Caesar Salad, we shared the whipped mashed potatoes. The steak was good but would have preferred A-1 steak sauce. For appetizer, I had the Day Boat Scallops with english pea risotto and preserved lemon that was very good, and I had the lobster bisque and I agree with Ed it had too much of a tomato taste and very spicy. I ordered the Skirt Steak with sauteed onions which I enjoyed. As always we were in great company and we give Chicago Cut Steakhouse 2 1/2 stars.

Hello DC Fam,
I have to agree with Eddie that Chicago Cut was ok when compared to Ruth Chris and some of our other steakhouses.  For appetizer, I had the French Au Gratin Onion Soup which was good.
For my entree, I had the New York Strip (no bone) and it didn't have the flavor that I would expect from a high-end restaurant. I'm not a connoisseur of steaks, but I do know that a good steak does not need anything (steak sauce, etc.) added to it. I did ask for it medium well and it was prepared accordingly. As a side we had the mac 'n cheese which I enjoyed.  I think the staff was very attentive to our needs, although I think they could have made a better seating arrangement for our party (too tight with a couple of people sitting on the edges of the table; not good for any restaurant customer). I give them two pluses for constantly filling my water before asking, something a lot of places don't stay on top of.  The ambience was good and the company was spectacular.

Overall I would recommend Chicago Cut to others for the experience and I give them 2.5 stars.
Scott

The Chicago Cut Steakhouse was "just ok". It does not compare to Ruth Chris or The Chop house.
I had the bone-in New York Strip and it lacked in flavor. It was prepared the way I asked, However the taste was nothing special. The lobster bisque soup had to much of a tomato taste.

The atmosphere was perfect for an evening out. For the quality of food , I thought it was pricey.
I give Chicago Cut Steakhouse 1 star!
